That particular incident hits Rezo the worse for him having so little direct involvement in it- when they'd told him what became of Sairaag and Eris, it had been an utter shock. If Zelgadis wanted to sling any guilt with any of Rezo's past crimes, this would be a particularly heavy one to bludgeon him with.
However, Zelgadis goes over it briefly, in a matter of fact way that is ultimately easier than any coddling or tiptoeing around the subject would be, and the tension in Rezo's chest eases somewhat. And it really is good to get to hear the story of how Zelgadis met his friend from Zelgadis himself, rather than piecing it together from what other people mention offhand.
